Last Two Shifts

Well I’m just doing my last two shifts in the SPAR in Rathcoole. Going to miss everyone, but then I’m not going far, and will probably be in from time to time anyway, so its no big deal really.

Start new job on Monday morning and I can’t wait 😀

New Job

Well, we arrived back down from the caravan on Friday morning so that I could go to a job interview.  Funnily enough (from the title of this post) that interview must have went well, as I now have a new job.  I start on Monday 20th, and I’m counting myself lucky that I basically walked into a job straight out of uni…

I’ll be working with the Automated Stock Replenishment system which we are moving to, it all sounds pretty cool and interesting!

The rest of the time at the caravan was alright – we went to Donegal/Inishowen on Wednesday which was cool – I haven’t been over there in years, but it’s pretty awesome, with some stunning views.  I have a few pictures, but it was raining and I appear to have gotten rain on my lens a few times, so the pictures didn’t turn out that well lol.

So, now that I have a week free before I start ‘working’, I should really spend some time tidying my bedroom and stuff, I guess that would be a good idea.

Had a brake light blow on the car on Saturday, was quite good actually, the car has a bulb warning LED to let you know when there’s a bulb out, and the car can actually tell you what set of lights are affected – handy – and saves having to fully check the car every time you get into it lol.  Unfortunately it wasn’t so easy to try and replace the bulb – requiring a socket set, screwdrivers, and some brute force, to even get near the cluster…  But I guess you don’t need to do that very often, and I’ll know where to start next time…

Caravan

Well, I’m up at Benone for a few days with Amanda, sort of an end of uni, start of work break. Missing broadband Internet, although we’re not far from Coleraine (& Starbucks) so it’s not too bad.

So far it has rained pretty constantly, hoping it dries up a bit, especially so we can get out for a few wee walks around the place without having to wear waterproofs…

Going to head up to Binevenagh for a bit of a nosey, haven’t been up in years… Driving up will be so much easier than walking though lol.

Will maybe get some pics and upload them to website at the end of our hol.

Windy

It’s pretty darn windy out there today. Cloughfern weather at http://sproule.co.uk/weather has live weather information. Interesting to see that they have recorded the highest gust in the history of the station, 91.3km/hr. That’s rather quick lol.

I’ve heard tell of a few places being without power too, Portrush town centre being closed, and a few other things… Maybe it is the end of the world – your man might have been out by a day or two!

Anyway back to revision.

Nearing the end of uni…

Well, it’s a little scary, two exams left to go, and that’s uni finished with… Wish I did better than I have, but that’s just the way the cookie crumbles!

The time has come to look for a ‘real’ job, hopefully something good will pop up, would love to be able to use the degree that I have almost achieved – I guess that’s my real aim. Other than that, I’d love a full time job that’ll pay the bills, to use a cliche.

Anyway, haven’t got a lot to say right now, I guess I’m not in a very good procrastinating mood just yet. I’m sure when that time comes, I’ll be able to think of plenty more stuff to write about!

Will blog more often, promise!

Frankie & Benny’s

We went to Frankie and Benny’s tonight in Victoria Square in Belfast.  It was absolutely amazing, and I don’t know why it’s taken so long for us to go!

We picked some stuff from the £9.95 for two courses menu, I had a pepperoni pizza, and Amanda had a New Yorker Burger.  Both were great value for money.  Drinks were reasonably priced too, with two (decently sized) cokes and the two meals coming to just under £25 in total.

The member of staff was very attentive and saw to all our needs, and even thought the restaurant was busy he didn’t seem to be rushing us, which is always a positive thing in a restaurant.

The selection on the special offer menu was very reasonable, and outside of the offer there was an amazing selection of burgers, pizzas, pastas and calzones, along with a host of other stuff.

We’ll definitely be going back again, hopefully in the ‘not too distant’ future.

Exams

Well had my first exam on Monday. It wasn’t too bad, I don’t think, although as they say, “The proof of the pudding is in the eating.”

The next one is on Saturday morning at half 9 (yay – not), and it’s on Quantum Mechanics and Relativity.  It should be OK, the assignments for QM went a lot better than I thought they would, so I’ll hopefully be the same in the exam.

The problem this year is that two of the modules had new lecturers last year, so there’s only really one year of past papers.  I know you aren’t meant to revise using the past papers, but it’s nice to have a rough idea of the layout of the exam, which you can’t get if there is only one past paper in existence.

Anyway back to revision…
